Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association representing 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with two million employees. ABC’s membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry. Our vision is to provide an environment in which people and companies succeed based on free-enterprise principles within the free-market system.

Air Conditioning Contractors of America

ACCA is a group of over 4,000 air conditioning contractors who work together to improve our industry, promote good practices, and keep homes and buildings safe, clean and comfortable. We share one goal: to make the HVACR industry, and every professional contracting business, more successful.


The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers is an American professional association seeking to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems design and construction. ASHRAE has more than 57,000 members in more than 132 countries worldwide.

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the leading association for the construction industry. AGC represents more than 26,000 firms, including over 6,500 of America’s leading general contractors, and over 9,000 specialty-contracting firms. More than 10,500 service providers and suppliers are also associated with AGC, all through a nationwide network of chapters.

Refrigeration Service Engineers Society

Since 1933, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) has been a leader in training and education for comprehensive, cutting-edge education and certification to its members and the HVACR industry in the U.S. and Canada.

CB Controls has two licensed P.E. on staff.  The PE (Professional Engineer) certification is issued by the National Society of Professional Engineers. To become licensed, engineers must complete a four-year college degree, work under a Professional Engineer for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams and earn a license from their state’s licensure board.  To retain their licenses, PEs must continually maintain and improve their skills throughout their careers.
